VideoGIF App Reviews

17 Customer Reviews:

I’ve made one GIF thus far, and it proved to be nearly painless and had exactly the desired effect. This app doesn’t require a lot of technical expertise to get effective results, which is important to me if I’m just out having some fun. I checked a lot of other GIF-making products, pored over their reviews and decided this would be worth the somewhat-small price for a fully functional app. It does what it says, with some nice editing features. The reviewers that decry the lack of full editing capability need to realize that this is largely just a converting toy. The real editing should happen in iMovie and QuickTime, which give great results. I took the spit-take sequence from SpaceBalls (where Rick Moranis’ character drinks coffee), did a screen recording with QuickTime, cut the original 8-second segment to 1.3 seconds in iMovie by chopping out the “less-meaningful” parts, and went in search of a gif maker. The result was almost perfect. The reviewers that didn’t like some of the “clinginess” (asking for reviews, asking about making smaller file size, etc.) EITHER didn’t realize that there were checkboxes to remove the badgering, or were heard by the developers, who made those checkboxes available. I’d like to see more sharing options (so far, only Tumblr, Mail and Messages), but once it’s on your drive, you can pretty much just share it however you want. That being said, FaceBook didn’t seem to recognize that I was trying to upload a GIF, and only posted my work as a photo. Hrmm; not sure what’s going on there. Five Stars, for me, is not a “Thumbs-up;” three is (are?), so this four-star rating of mine is pretty darned good.

I love this app! Honestly, it’s the only Gif editor I’ve found thus far that doesn’t destroy the quality and gives me just enough editing to make some great looking graphics. I gave it a five star but I’d really love to see some transparency options for the text, and the ability to include still graphics ontop of gifs, as well as combining multiple gifs onto one ‘canvas’. This is totally worth the purchase!

i am always looking for an app to help me making gifs. now i found it. this app can convert videos to gifs. That’s amazing, isn’t it? sometimes we don’t need to watch the whole video. Some moments of the video are more important for us. so to keep the moments we should use this app. Great app and i love using it.

VideoGif is very simple to use. It is not only support video, and also support shooting from the webcam. I kept trying to download a git off the internet but they didn’t have what i wanted. For now I can make gifs about anything I want. It’s a simple use and great useful app.

Downloaded a few days ago after doing an extensive search. This app works perfectly everytime. Easy to use. Plenty of features and has not crashed yet. Even if it did crash occassionally, I wouldn’t mind (hopefully they would fix it fast), because it’s that awesome. I highly recommend. I’m using it to create gifs for quick app demos and to send in emails.

I bought this application after reading the review about it. I needed a software to edit my videos but it has never work since I bought it. It asked me if I want to resize my file or maintain the original size and after making an option it gets stalled and never runs again. I think it is a waste of my money since it is expensive too. I will not recommend it to any one.

Nice app

I had some problems with version 1.0.2 but version 2.0.0 seems to have squashed the bugs. Overall, a very nice program.

I really like this app. You can adjust hue saturation and all kinds of presets, but for the $19 I spent I was hoping for more. The share to Tumblr is not needed, and I really don’t trust an app that can post on my Tumblr. I would have given this a higher rating, but the huge annoyance that brought me here this morning was a pop-up begging me to rate the app. I would rate the next version higher, if it had the option to clip middle parts out the the video track. I’m not sure if there is already. I’ve just been doing the clipping part with Quicktime before importing, but it does make it a painful process. Also if I could make and save my own hue saturation, ect presents to use again. I would give at least 5 without any of that, if it got rid of annoying rate begging pop ups.

Wait so this is an app that costs $20 .. whilst the free version does the same thing. Only difference is a very small hue adjestment. It would seem like for $20 you could atleast make sure the gramar is propper. The first thing that happened when I opened the app was a warnign popped up, “Do you want to reduce the size to small than 640x640.” It doesn’t make sense, I assume it is meant to be a question and not a sentence, but even then it is vert awekward.

I tried every free or demo app I could find to make simple animated GIFs on the Mac. This one seemed to have the most potential, so I bought the full version to get the additional features (crop, resize, add stickers and text, etc.) Its working very well and will do what I want without much fuss. I wish there was a way to preview playing the loop from start to end before previewing and saving the GIF, but I’ve found no app that does that so it may be a technical limitation. Same for adding audio … I would love to be able to add audio. Anyway, I highly recommend this app, and hope that the author continues to update it and make it even better.
